Israel, Jerusalem and Trump's decision

Seeing the desperate news from the media about the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and the comments of the "experts", there is only one word to define: PATHETIC.

By the tone, by the lines, by the faces, it seems that we will have the apocalypse. An atomic bomb in Iran does not cause such concern. Same, the missiles of North Korea. The world leaders seemed freshly disembarked from Mars because their statements had no basis in reality and denoted a completely unfounded surprise and fear.

The president of Turkey (who does not border on Israel) and is furiously anti-Semitic, protested. He said the decision will benefit terrorist groups (which, by the way, he supports, such as Hamas) .... any surprises? Did you expect him to like it? to complete the ridicule, he threatened to sever relations with Israel (and not with the United States ...)

The pope, a total stranded in foreign policy, who called Mahmoud Abbas a "man of peace", said the rights of all should be respected. Since when are the rights of all respected in places under Islamic sovereignty? Since when do Arabs recognize the right of Jews to have their state?

European leaders spoke on "prejudice to the peace negotiations" .... how come negotiations are taking place or even marked? For years no one has sat down to discuss anything. What they do not have the courage to say is one thing: they fear that the Arabs will become furious and commit more attacks than they already do. Just do not say not to be politically incorrect and accused of Islamophobes. They know that the Arab countries will not break treaties or declare war; know that there will be no oil boycott; then they are really afraid of Islamic terrorism, which would gain another excuse (as if they needed one).

Theresa May and the UN Secretary-General said that the future of Jerusalem should be decided by both sides (Jews and Palestinians). Can anyone warn them that the Palestinians do not agree to negotiate peace or recognize Israel, and during the past 70 years, that is, regardless of America's decision today, the Arabs are determined to destroy Israel?

The Arab League also protested. But is not this entity that since 1967 follows the policy of the Three Nuns (No peace with Israel, No recognition of Israel, No negotiations with Israel)? Interestingly, the most important Arab countries in relation to the problem (Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt) gave protocol statements, signaling that it is making a lot of noise for nothing ...

Iran has protested ... but this country no longer plans to destroy Israel, regardless of anything?

Hamas said that Trump's decision buried the two-state solution ... since when did Hamas advocate this, two states ???? Until today, it defended the destruction of Israel and continues defending. What will Hamas do? Will them fire rockets and carry out bombings? Please tell me something new ....

Some say that the United States will lose the ability to mediate the peace process because they have taken sides. As far as I know, the US was already allies of Israel. Also, who will replace the US? And if someone comes along for that role, great! Peace is Israel's greatest dream ever since it was created.

Others say it will increase instability in the Middle East? Whatr do you mean? Is there going to be another war to rival Syria's? Or with the Yemen war? Will another group arise to occupy the space of the Islamic State? Is Hezbollah going to assassinate Lebanon's prime minister? What does this have to do with Jerusalem?

There are those who say that it can awaken Palestinian fury and even lead to a new intifada. There weren't two, without the recognition of Jerusalem as capital? That is, you do not need any of this to do an intifada. Terrorism? Israel has lived with this since before its creation ...

Demetrio Magnoli (a brazilian articulist) overcame himself: he said recognition is a victory for Netanyahu, but not for Israel, as if the Israeli government did not have legitimacy or the citizens of Israel generally did not support Trump's decision .... since the election of Trump, I suspect he's having hallucinations.

None of these actors complained or protested when Unesco made crazy decisions against Israel, recognizing Jerusalem's alleged connection with Islam and denying the connection between the Jews and the city conquered by King David 3000 years ago, 14 centuries before the rise of Islam ...

It is not excessive to remember that, although there is a religious connection between Muslims and Jerusalem, the city is cited in the Old Testament 619 times and NONE in the Koran. The eastern part, where are the religious monuments, was under Arab sovereignty for 19 years (between 1948 and 1967). Was it a Muslim pilgrimage center? No. Did you care for restoration of monuments? No, on the contrary, many were vilified. Was there freedom of worship for all religions? No. In fact, all the Arab pressure on the subject has only one objective: to blackmail Israel, because of the spiritual importance from the city to the Jews. It is simply to "create case," because they have never given the city its actual importance as a religious center. In fact, it is a hindrance to peace. Without this trump card, they may seriously negotiate because they lose the blackmail tool. It is also important to remember that the desire of the Jews to have a state was so great that they accepted the UN partition, even without Jerusalem. The Arabs did not accept the creation of the Jewish state, even though that state did not have the holy city. So the problem of the Arabs is not Jerusalem, no matter what hand it is. It is the existence of Israel, which they refuse to accept. Jerusalem is only the subject of the day. But in 1947 the Arabs also protested. Should not Ben Gurion have declared independence?

Vendendo Lula
